The arch is part of a castle, or what is left of one. The roof went a long time ago and the ivy came in after it. A knight climbs up here when he is off duty and sits on the stone bench with his back against the wall. He keeps the helmet on. The book is a history, sieges and long rides and men who did not come back, and he reads it slowly because he has read it before and he knows what is coming. The fox is not his. It started turning up about a month ago, sat a bit closer each time, and now it sleeps on the warm flagstone by his boot while he reads. When he stands to go he waits for it to wake up on its own.
Send the name you want and it goes on the line above the arch: In Ada's Library, In Mom's Library, In Room 12's Library. Painterly artwork in stone grey, deep green and rust, with the fox curled up in the corner. A good gift for book lovers, fantasy readers, dungeon masters, history teachers, and anyone who calls one shelf a library.
